Panasonic Viera TC 37LZ800 37 Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

The 37″ TC-37LZ800 is one of Panasonic’s finest LCD HDTVs. While many TV makers reserve their best display technologies and most advanced features for their 40″-and-larger models, Panasonic focuses its LCD efforts on the under-40″ range. You can enjoy truly top-notch picture quality in your living room, bedroom, office, or den. Panasonic’s advanced “IPS Alpha” panel technology lets you enjoy exceptional picture contrast and color when watching from the sides, above, or below the screen. Motion Focus makes fast-action scenes look smooth, smear-free and natural. The screen also employs Panasonic’s Clear Panel filter, which delivers a vividness approaching that of plasma TVs. You can take full advantage of the TC-37LZ800′s 1080p resolution by connecting components to the three HDMI inputs, which all accept 1080p video, including 24-frame-per-second video from Blu-ray high-def disc players. An SD memory card slot on the side of the TV lets you share an instant slideshow of your digital photos. And a PC input makes this TV a terrific choice if you like to work and play on the same high-quality screen. 10,000 – 1 Dynamic-Contrast Ratio, 1200 – 1 Contrast Ratio Sub Pixel Control digital video processing Motion Focus anti-blur technology Built-in stereo speakers (10 watts x 2) Multibrand remote control VIERA Link simplifies remote control for compatible Panasonic components (HDMI-CEC) Inputs including – 2 composite video (1 rear, 1 side), 1 S-video, 2 component video (accepts signals up to 1080i), 3 HDMI v1.3 (2 rear, 1 side) accepts signals up to 1080p (60Hz, 24Hz), analog RGB (D-Sub 15-pin) PC input, RF input for antenna/cable signals, Optical digital audio output for Dolby Digital, and side SD memory card slot for digital photo playback Dimensions – Width 36-5/8 x Height 23-7/8 x Depth 4-1/2 / Height 25-5/8 x Depth 11-5/8 on stand Weight – 49.6 pounds

Panasonic Viera TC-37LZ800 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
On January 01, 2009, after having done extensive research and finding that Consumer Reports had rated this set # 1 in its category, we ordered this item from Amazon. We were limited to a 37″ set and had checked several retailers and on-line retailers for stock and price and Amazon was most competitive. Shipping was included and the set arrived in a reasonably short time.
Our TV service is via Verizon FIOS but we do not pay the premium for High Definition reception. Having seen the “warnings” posted in several retail stores, advising that without HD service, one might be disappointed in the quality of reception, we were anxious to see how this set compared to an older (2000-2001) 32″ Panasonic rear-projection set. After following all of the set-up instructions, however, and “tweaking” the picture via the selections that are provided, we were most pleased with this selection. The picture is crisp, clear and bright and the audio, even absent the home theater set-up that would provide a surround-sound effect, is excellent. In viewing the picture, we cannot imagine that the extra cost of subscribing to HD reception would be money well spent. It is difficult to imagine that an HD picture would be any better than the SD picture that we presently enjoy, despite what many say. Having seen several sets with HD reception, we’ll pit them against this Panasonic TC-37LZ800 any day. We’ve been very happy with this choice and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
5 Stars 37LZ800
This TV is AWESOME! Best TV i have owned yet. The clear panel makes this TV. I would tell anyone to get this TV no matter how much. The 37LZ800 handles motion great. Looks better then a 120Hz TV.
5 Stars 37″ LCD – Excellent Quality
I read all the features and LCD TV reviews before making my decision. I selected the Panasonic, though it was more expensive compared to other very good choices, for a number of reasons. Consumer Reports rated it tops in the 37″ size category. Many past reviewers gave it overall very high marks with very few below that rating. I was very pleased with past experience with Panasonic products. Also, I believe the Panasonic had larger and higher watt speakers in this LCD TV size range compared to competitors. Overall speaker quality in TVs of this size may be somewhat compromised because of the dimensional compactness of the box and that the 37″ may be used in varied locations with different needs: a small family or living room where some would want better speaker quality verses a bedroom setting where just adequate speakers may suffice. The Panasonic speakers were rated higher than the competition in this size range and we have found the speakers for our large bedroom more than adequate.
Having now had the LCD for a couple of months, it is excellent. I have nothing negative to indicate. Basically disconnected the cable from the old tv and hooked it up to the new LCD. We have Verizon Fios and the HDTV programs come in sharp and colors are perfect. Non-HDTV is fine as well. We have made no adjustments at all to any of the settings except fiddling around with the TV format sizing to get the right size picture (and this is a normal thing to be doing with any set). I highly recommend this Panasonic product.
5 Stars Great TV
I recently purchased Panasonic’s Viera TC-37LZ800 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV to replace a Samsung 37 inch HDTV. The Panasoic has much better pitcure quality than the Samsung. The colors are perfect. It has great sound quality and a user-friendly remote. The Samsung that we had before came from Best Buy and they tried to convince me to have them come out and calibrate the tv for a $300 fee. This Panasonic has a perfect pitcure straight out of the box without any expensive calibration. I highly recommend this tv.
5 Stars Outstanding LCD HDTV
This Panasonic TC-37LZ800 is our first HDTV. I couldn’t be more pleased. We use it with a Comcast DVR (Motorola 3416) and the HDTV picture is spectacular, regardless of where you sit in the room. Standard definition TV also is excellent. The audio is very good, although I think we should consider surround sound to really complete this system. The one criticism of this HDTV when we were shopping was reflections in the light because it has a glossy screen – we have not had this problem. I purchased this HDTV over the Sony 37″ XBR engine HDTV because it was over $300 cheaper. I don’t regret that decision at all. This is everything I expected in an HDTV.
