Eclipse The Twilight Saga Book 3

The legions of readers who are hooked on the romantic struggles of Bella and the vampire Edward will ecstatically devour this third installment of the story begun in Twilight, but it’s unlikely to win over any newcomers. Jake, the werewolf met in New Moon, pursues Bella with renewed vigilance. However, when repercussions from an episode in Twilight place Bella in the mortal danger that series fans have come to expect, Jake and Edward forge an uneasy alliance. The plot patterns have begun to show here, but Meyer’s other strengths remain intact. The supernatural elements accentuate the ordinary human dramas of growing up. Jake and Edward’s competition for Bella feels particularly authentic, especially in their apparent desire to best each other as much as to win Bella. Once again the author presents teenage love as an almost inhuman force: “[He] would have been my soul mate still,” says Bella, “if his claim had not been overshadowed by something stronger, something so strong that it could not exist in a rational world.” According to Meyer, the fourth book should tie up at least the Edward story, if not the whole shebang. 5 Stars stunning
I am 33 and thought this book was beautifully written. It is my favorite of the Twilight Saga. I have read it twice already. Stephenie Meyer did an amazing job bringing this characters to life.
5 Stars Good Book!!
Another good book in the series!! The first one is still my favorite, but this was very good too! If you liked the first and second you will like this one!! I could read dozens more in this series, if only there were that many more. By far my favorite series of books thus far!
5 Stars I loved this book*
This is a response to the people that wrote terrible reviews of this book saying they didn’t like how Edward is too gushy, Jacob is manipulative, and Bella is the damsel in distress.
I loved this book from start to finish.
Edward has realized how wrong it was for him to leave in the first place, and all he’s going to do is try to make it up to Bella and never lose her again, of course he’s not going to be cocky around her-only with Jacob because they are fighting for the girl they both love.
Jacob is I don’t know if you noticed-a werewolf. Hormones, arrogance, puberty, temper, sarcasm-he’s a boy. He’s trying to convince Bella that he should be the one with her, and as he sees it she’s the one being stupid because she’s taking back the man that abandoned her.
Bella is a clutz, un-coordinated, has bad luck, attracts danger…of course she’s going to be a damsel in distress. (if you finish the series and read the fourth book you hopefully won’t be bothered anymore by her helplessness) She does depend on Edward for her happiness, and whether or not that’s healthy that’s what makes their relationship so juicy-they only want to be together, nothing else.
The love triangle is exciting to me, it’s about her trying to make everyone happy which isn’t possible.
I think the relationship between Edward and Jacob is the best and most interesting part of this book, the chapter fire and ice is one of my favorites in the whole series.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I just wanted to share mine. Thanks for reading this, hope you look at the wonderful things about these books and don’t get caught up in the negative.*
