4 Stars Great LCD TV!!!
This television is excellent!! It’s black levels are very deep, contributing to excellent shadow detail in dark viewing material. The screen is highly uniform with no noticeable bright areas or stuck pixels. The colors are accurate and vibrant. The 240Hz processing works pretty well, smoothing out motion blur and reducing judder, but the effect takes some getting used to. Even standard definition TV looks pretty good on this set, but doesn’t hold a candle to any HD content. Highly recommended!!
5 Stars My first Sports Worthy LCD, 240Hz Makes a Big Difference
This was the last of four CRT TVs that I replaced with flat panels and I now have two Plasmas and two LCDs. I ordered from Amazon and they used a delivery company called Pilot. Pilot called me four days after I placed the order to report that it had arrived in the Boston area and set up a delivery appointment. Pilot showed up on time and put the boxed TV in the room of my choice. The set weighs just over 30 pounds and setup was a no-brainer. Don’t be bothered by the paucity of paper instructions; It’s all on a USB drive that fits into one of the TVs USB connectors. I haven’t even needed mine.
As for performance, the 240Hz appears to completely eliminate the “LCD Motion Blur” that makes my older Samsung 60Hz unacceptable for fast moving sports. I may have to update this after the NFL season starts, but for now it appears to be on a par with my plasmas — something I had not expected. Overall, I would rank the picture quality as excellent.
One comment on aesthetics: I like the plain black frame a lot better than the bright red “touch of color” that surrounds most of the other Samsungs.
Overall I’m very happy with the TV and with the Amazon buying experience. I would recommend it to anyone buying a new TV.
4 Stars Very nice TV for a little bit of a premium.
This TV is a bit more than I needed, but I know that going into purchasing.
I like the there is no red color in the bezel. The picture is very good, it really feels that the foreground movement is separated from the background. This gives everything the feel of 3D. I don’t know if this is from the motion plus smoothing or if this is normal on newer TVs. It feels weird to watch, but I might get used to it.
The widgets and add-ons are neat, but gimmicky. The processing behind them is slow so there is a lot of lag in the controls.
The media connectivity to me seems pretty aweful. THere may be some settings I have not found yet, but I tried to play a DIVX TV show from my computer using the software provided. The TV played the video but the aspect ratio was way off, it placed the video in the center of the screen, it was very small as well. In comparison if I play the same video from my PlayStation 3 it looks fantastic on the screen.
The connection options are fantastic, lots of choices.
The delivery process was great. They brought the TV to where I wanted it, but did not wait for me to plug it in and test as others had stated.
Picture: looks great for blu-ray movies and the few HD channels that I pull in without a box.
Sound: I do not use the built in speakers
Extras: widgets and extras are neat, but gimmicky, slow, and not terrible useful.
Value: A little expensive, but it’s a new TV so thats to be expected, I feel that it is worth what I paid.
5 Stars Samsung LN40B750
Five stars for this great unit! Samsung hit another winner with this product. Picture perfect, easy set up and really decent sound. Easy to use lighted remote. No motion worries with the latest 240hz setup.
Grey touch of color is very attractive. Swivel base works great for viewing at different locations in my family room with no problems viewing at any angle. No problems with screen reflections either.
Menus are easy to walk through for any user adjustments.
I also purchased and installed the wireless USB device. Easy to install and set up also.
I would highly recommend this set to anyone.
5 Stars Great TV
I’m really pleased with the whole process of ordering, delivery and set up, and I’m especially pleased with the TV. We already have a smaller Samsung LCD flat panel so buying the LN40B750 was a no brainer. I watch a lot of sports and with the 240Hz motion capability, I don’t notice any motion distortion. Set up was easy, the picture quality is top notch and the wife can’t get me out of my recliner!

5 Stars samsungLN52B750 LCD TV
Had compared this tv w/the new LED tv’s, not much of a difference. With all the great reviews on Amazon, decided to purchase from Amazon. Received a great price and the Sony S360 blu ray player free, plus free shipping. First off, turned down the contrast and axed the unnecessary enhancements, WOW, what a great picture. Pairing w/Sony 5000es blu ray player, blu rays look awesome, only played 1 regular dvd, Alice in Chains, Unplugged (plcture looked fantastic)so upconverting definitely shines. This is an attractive lcd tv, at least to me. Further down the road will have it calibrated, I’m a bit color blind and would prefer a pro set it up correctly to my room. Have no problems w/the tv so far. First day after set-up, watched movies from early in the morning to early evening, nice day at the movies. Pilot delivery was actually a few days early, carried into the house and left it in the front room. Happy w/their performance… Really enjoy dealing w/Amazon… Thanks again, John in Ben Lomond, CA
4 Stars My First Flat Panel
I got this TV from a B&M store on Father’s day. The box barely fit into a Honda Odyssey so shipping seems like a good option if you don’t have a truck or mini van.
I like how the stand isn’t attached because I directly hung this onto a wall mount.
The picture is great and 240hz shows HD content silky smooth. The sound quality isn’t that impressive, but I guess it’s acceptable for a flat panel.
My only dislike about the TV is when ever I turn it on, I hear this buzzing noise that sounds like a loud static buzz/hiss that plays on top of the musical intro noise. This sound varies each time I turn the TV on and I heard it was related to some transformer issue, but I’m not sure. I can live with it and I’m not about to return a TV because of this minor defect.
I couldn’t tell any difference comparing the LED version and this TV to justify the price increase so I didn’t go with the LED one. I suppose the LED one may have a longer life, but I figure by then they will have even better TV’s.
The remote has weird curve at the bottom which bothers some people. Also I found that toggling between video sources has awkward delays that make me mess up which input i’d like to select.
The speaker outputs didn’t seem adjustable by using the volume control on the TV, though there might be a setting I don’t know about.
All in all, I’m pleased with the television, but it’s not “perfect” so I can’t give it 5 stars.
3 Stars cc- not working on HDMI
This TV looks great, both HD and Standard def, but the HDMI inputs do not support closed-captioning.
The component inputs work, but whats the point of having HDMI interface- yet connect component inputs?
I am thinking of returning this.
5 Stars Best LCD I’ve Seen
Our 5-year-old projection LCD was getting fuzzy so we finally decided to spring for a new one. What a difference! The blacks are ebony. The images are sparkly clear. The colors are brilliant. The reflections, although faintly there if you look for them, are not bothersome at all. The low def pictures are better than the hi def ones were on the old set. I absolutely cannot make the image disappear no matter what angle my eyes are to the set–directly above, off to the side, or down below–so its viewing angle, for me, is every bit as good as any plasma or CRT. I haven’t yet noticed any fast motion blur, but to be fair, I never noticed any on the old set, either. Thus, the 240Hz doesn’t seem to be very important, although we haven’t tried watching a fast moving sporting event with it turned off. The only comparison between the old and the new, where the B750 isn’t as good, is the sound. But, hey, we really didn’t expect much anyway; we realized how tough it is to hide high fidelity speakers in a 2″ thick TV whose front is almost all picture. We expected to have to augment the sound with a separate sound system, so we were not disappointed with that.
The delivery guy didn’t have any white gloves, but I really can’t complain about his work. He didn’t spend a lot of time with us, but he did hook up our components and turn it on, so I can’t complain about that either.
The features of this set are many, and some we have not yet tried, but the main reason we have a TV in the first place is program watching, and that has become a hugely satisfying experience with the LN52B750.
1 Star Avoid Samsung products! Horrible Customer Service
We purchased this dryer as a set March 29th 2009. June 25th 2009: The dryer failed with and upside down F5. We contacted Samsung and started a ticket. They told us there was not a service center available and they would send this to the “back office” and within 5 days we should have support. I called back the following week and was told the same thing.
I called the True Value store where we purchased the combo and they said they were authorized to service this product. True Value called in to Samsung ASC (Authorized Service Center) helpline and got the part numbers needed for repair. The parts were on backorder. It is now July 15 2009 and the parts are still on back order. I have called 38 times to Samsung with no resolution. Samsung said I voided my warranty because the ASC was not an ASC. Samsung decided that wasn’t true and have reinstated my warranty.
Samsung closed my ticket and said it was complete because the parts were on backorder and when we received the parts the dryer would be fixed. Samsung decided that wasn’t true and have reopened my help ticket. THANK GOD for Discover. We called Discover and they said it was unacceptable and have given us the credit ($1800) for the combo and have decided to seek reimbursement from Samsung. HA!
Now, I am not saying DON’T buy Samsung, I just saying “Don’t say you weren’t warned.” I will never ever, ever buy Samsung again. I hope I have saved someone the pain of a month without a dryer and a serious headache.

5 Stars Superb picture!
This TV doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some of the more expensive sets, but the picture is absolutely stunning! Excellent with cable HD and DVDs. I haven’t listened to the speakers, since I have a home theater sound system. Delivery was a bit of a hassle, since the first one I got had a big dent in it, so I refused delivery. But another one arrived in less than a week in great condition.
4 Stars Great picture, bad speakers
Great picture clarity, everything you would expect from a high definition TV..
TV sound is horrible! at 30% there is already distoring and cant do any bass… if you buy this TV do plan on setting it up with a home theater.
5 Stars Great TV for the money!
I’ve been watching this for almost 20 days now and have only one issue; its already 100 bucks cheaper than I paid for it.
I’ve heard that the sound is not great on this set. I only use the TV speakers for watching regular TV and not blurays movies since I have a separate surround sound system, but it seems ok to me. I did have to mess with the graphics equalizer a little to get it to sound right, but on the virtual surround sound it is quite impressive.
For a while it looked like the color was running a little too red, but after about 1 week of watching it seemed to cool down a little. I don’t know if that’s normal or not, but the color and sharpness is just breath taking. I have a 32 inch HDTV in the family room and my wife wasn’t too impressed with the bluray movies we watched on that, but she was mezmorized by the images on the 50 inch PN50B550 and so was I.
‘Its almost like 3D’ she kept saying over and over again. I just smiled. HDTV is really something now, I can’t even imagine going to the family room to watch it anymore.
If you got a tight budget, and are eager to experience Hi Def, this is the way to go.
5 Stars Outstanding, as expected
This is my first HDTV, but I did spend a good couple months shopping around and studying up on my features, pros/cons, etc… First of all the picture is beautiful, but hey, that’s to be expected. I love the ample HDMI ports, and as it turns out, the swivel stand ended up being a pretty awesome feature. Plasma is plasma, and there’s no getting around the fact that you’re going to have some reflective glare if there is a bright window or light behind you. So, in our livingroom at around 6pm when the sunlight is beaming in the side window, we just swivel that baby a little to the right and viola! No glare. I’m also a gamer and despite the fact that my 360 is an older model that uses component instead of HDMI, it still looks gorgeous. I’m dusting off old games that I haven’t played in years and it’s a whole new experience! I should also mention that I was concerned about the big plasma TV being hot. Some of the floor models I’ve seen almost turned me off of plasma because they let out noticible ambient heat. But I haven’t noticed that at all with this set. Very happy.
1 Star No remote, no power cord, no owners manual.
Person delivered and unpacked. Nothing other than TV in box. He said it happens all the time and that Amazon would overnight me the missing stuff. I called Amazon and they said to refuse delivery. Samsung missed the boat here.

5 Stars GREAT PICTURE
ARRIVED WITHIN 3 DAYS OF PURCHASE. GREAT PICTURE AS ADVERTISED, BETTER SPECS THAN ANY OTHER LCD IN ITS PRICE RANGE. GREAT REVIEW IN CONSUMER REPORTS.
5 Stars Samsung 46″
This LCD TV replaced a Projection TV (which was also a Samsung). The difference is dramatic. The picture is bright, even when it’s bright outside. You really do not need professional assistance to connect it, but you may need help in getting rid of your previous set.
5 Stars Worksa great!!!
I was looking for HDTV and this item is the best among other tv considering for the price range, 75000:1 quality, size, etc. The attached speaker is okay, but you can connect with your speaker and it works great.
5 Stars What a T.V.!!!
Samsung LN46B550 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color
Sizzling colors, easy set-up and remote operation. No blur during fast moving scenes. Everyone that comes over is amazed at the price and the picture.
5 Stars Awesome TV, Mediocre Amazon Delivery Service
Could not be happier with this TV. Really, it’s exceptional. I had it narrowed down between this and a similar Sony model. I literally just picked the one that had the better reviews.
The ordering process was quick and easy, and 48 hours later I got a call from the CEVA delivery service, scheduling the “white glove” delivery.
What a crock. If by “white glove service”, you mean a dude who asks “do you want me to bring it inside?” while standing in your building’s lobby, then yes, it was indeed, “white glove”. After taking the 15 foot walk, he set it down in my living room, handed me the papers to sign, and then clearly expected a tip. I asked him if he could unpack it, and the dude looked at me like I was severely deformed. Told him to forget it, signed and told him “thanks”. The morale to the story is don’t expect much in terms of “white glove”. Mr. Belvedere will not be delivering your TV.
Overall, happy with the TV but I’ll think twice about ordering big/expensive stuff from Amazon.

5 Stars Excellent TV!
I have had this TV for about a month. It is absolutely great. I have to admit that my son-in-law did all of the heavy lifting regarding researching what TV to buy. He is a computer guy and really into electronics. He researched a TV for himself and chose Samsung A630 (46″) that he got last year. So when I decided to buy I focused on Samsung and decided on the 40″ B650.
This is my first HDTV so I can’t compare it to other HDTVs. But the picture is beautiful, nice vibrant colors. I made no adjustments to the settings (actually I don’t know how to change those!) and the picture is perfect. The 40″ size is ideal for our use in our mid-size family room.
The delivery worked well. I tracked the shipping through CEVA’s website once I got the tracking number. It was supposed to be delivered on June 3 and I found that it had arrived in St. Louis on June 1. I noted in some of the previous reviews that CEVA was a bit slow to make contact to set up delivery, so when I hadn’t heard anything by noon on June 2, I called CEVA. The person I talked to was very friendly and helpful; delivery was setup for the morning of June 3.
About an hour after that, the person who actually does the delivery (in an SUV) called and asked if he could make delivery that afternoon (June 2). He said he would be here by 5 pm, and he arrived a little after that.
He unpacked the TV, put it on the stand, plugged it in and turned it on. He said the “White Glove” delivery required only that the red light on the front goes off when the TV is turned on, and that there be a white screen. He said they did not do cable hook-ups.
The only hard-copy instructions was a one page diagram for attaching the cables (as a previous reviewer mentioned, the manual is contained in a memory stick). Attaching the cable from the cable box to the TV was no problem, but then I didn’t know how to proceed since this was my first HDTV. I played around a bit and finally found the “Source” button on the remote and then was able to get a picture.
Pretty minor inconvenience, I suppose, but I had heard the White Glove delivery included getting the set completely functioning.
Regarding the cable, I actually ordered the wrong cable. I have an older cable box that while HD does not have an HDMI connection but a DVI connection. The cable I ordered from Amazon had two HDMI connections. Fortunately I was able to locate the correct cable (DVI to HDMI) at a local St. Louis dealer (Show Me Cables).
So in the end it worked out. We are completely satisfied with the TV and highly recommend it.
5 Stars Fan-freakin-tastic TV
I am a photo retoucher and look for visual imperfections and color inaccuracies for a living. The picture on this TV is pretty much flawless, def. the best of all the TVs I compared while shopping. It has a great set of tools for adjusting the picture to your liking as well, including custom white balance. It also works flawlessly with a Samsung Blu-ray player (the BDP3600 is a great value!) and HD DVR. Couldn’t be happier with our purchase.
Only flaws I can find: Dust magnet, it comes with a dusting cloth for a reason. In “Natural” picture mode, some advanced settings (like black level)are not adjustable, not sure why. The picture is so good that you can really tell when the source material isn’t of the highest quality. Blu-ray discs and high quality TV shows (like HBO) look incredible, but a lot of the ‘HD’ channels don’t measure up. So far haven’t gotten my flash drive to work with it, maybe because it’s old and formatted for a Macintosh? Not really necessary, just wanted to try it to view photos from the Mac.
5 Stars Excellent TV
This Samsung TV has a stunning picture.
I love the Motionflow feature which I normally keep on the “standard” setting. The picture is crystal clear and almost looks 3D.
Also, I’m using the “natural” picture setting and turned down the contrast a notch and increased the brightness 2 notches.
Overall this set is A plus.
5 Stars great TV
Didn’t spend a lot of time researching, but was told my many people to look at Samsung. Could not be any happier with this TV! Set-up was so simple and the picture quality is terrific. I don’t watch TV much, I’m not a gamer, so for more technical reviews read elsewhere. But in my eyes, this is an outstanding TV that you’ll be more than happy with.
5 Stars Picture this
Oddly this is my first Samsung product and am impressed since day one. It took 3 weeks for me to pick the LN40b650 over the B6300 and Sony v5100, it just came down to what my eyes like and that was Samsung 650. 120hz was the minimum feature I wanted in a new HDTV. I noticed that 120hz really pops the image out more than regular 1080p set. Some people think the unnaturalness is bad, but I find it pleasing and create a sight 3D effect. The disadvantage of this is that you get a halo effect and some blocking, mainly around the actor when they move. This happen when you set the dejudder and smoothing to max level, but is unnoticeable on mid to lower level.
650 pros:
+The 120hz makes the movie pop out.
+One of the best black level and contrast out there.
+Colors are vivid and really pop-out.
+Yahoo widget works. I can check the weather sport score, and flickr images (not fast, but good)
+There seem to be some kind of auto scaling that my old TV didn’t do. You can also adjust the screen size/ proportion too.
+The extra content: cook menu, games, picture screen saver is ok, but I don’t use it much
+Media player actually works, it stream thing just like my PS3. (DNLA)
+Glossy screen enhances the colors more than the matte b630 version and Sony v5100, but keep it away from direct sunlight.
+There is a gaming mode, which turns off your 120hz and some extra effects for the faster response time. (It is also fine when you turn it on, but it looks very 3D, with some blocking)
Cons:
-I found Sony V5100 image to be a tad sharper, I saw more detail in the face and depth of field in a landscape. The Sony v5100 is placed next to the 650 in many stores.
-Sony 120hz, I think is a tad better, less halo, but you can adjust Samsung’s dejudder and smoothing independently.
-Glossy screen does creates some reflection, sometime with the lights on and a dark scene, I can see my reflection.
For Blu-ray movies, PS3 games this is an excellent set that will shine, pop the newer movies out. I found the DVD movies a little flat, but it still looks good. I sit too close to the set at 4-5ft, but when you move back between 5-10ft this is where the TV viewing is at its best. I think the picture is a little soft when I watch antenna broadcast , where the Sony was a tad sharper.
I calibrated my TV from the settings of this site: televisioninfo.
But I end up just using the standard settings the most. Got this set at Fry’s for 1199, but it dropped to 999 a week later and got the refund different so it was priced similar to the v5100 and cheaper than the b630. I am excited and glad I purchase this set. I like the B750 color trim and rectangle set a little better then the red and V tapper bottom, but it is not a deal breaker.
