5 Stars The perfect book for all podcasters.
Yes that’s right, this is the perfect book for any and all podcasters. If you are a podcaster, or want to be one or just want to find out what it’s all about buy this book.

The title says it all; Podcast Solutions. Chock full of info, written concisely, humorously, intelligently, informatively and in language that anyone can understand (even me) this is the one book to buy on the subject. It takes you step by step down the road to conceiving, creating, recording, producing and profiting from your show idea. This book covers every nook and cranny of the considerable field of information on both podcasts and vodcasts.

I personally have used both editions of this book to help me get my podcast going as well as optimizing it once it was up and running. What I really enjoyed about this book is how the authors explain things so that not only do you know what to do next but also why it works. Not only that there are many highlighted sections where the authors share a personal experience that really drives a point home. This brings the whole process into very sharp focus.

And their personal experience goes way beyond the technical aspects of podcasting and vodcasting. On page 85, for example, they share a tip that is critical to anyone who really wants to make effective communication with their material. And that is this; “speak as if you are speaking to one person”. That one piece of advice can turn a blah and lifeless presentation into one with depth and impact. This book is loaded with tips like that.

I can’t say enough good about this book. Without it I may not have gotten my podcast going. The two guys who wrote it have been doing this since it began and they know all the tricks. Don’t think about, just buy the book. You’ll thank me and more importantly you’ll thank the authors Dan Klass and Michael W. Geoghegan.

5 Stars the podcasting how-to book
This book was recommended to me by a friend who is the podcasting community. If you are currently, or will be, podcasting, this is a must-have. Any how-to podcasting question is answered in this book. Easy to read, nicely laid out.

5 Stars Works Flawlessly
The true test of a how-to book is whether or not you get the desired results. Well I can say that I wanted to create my own podcast and after reading this book, I did.

I am not the most computer savvy, but I’m also not an idiot (at least if you ask the right folks). Like many, I use the computer extensively all day and know the majority of popular programs. But when it comes to HTML, websites, and behind the curtain stuff, forget it. So, when I set out to create my own podcast, I was a bit intimidated. This book put me at ease.

One thing I will say is this: READ IT! Don’t be one of those that just flips to the parts you think you need. This book is better if you really read it cover to cover. The only section I didn’t read was the part on video podcasts because I wasn’t doing one. But read everything else.

It takes you through step by step and outlines most of the options for podcasters. How to record, edit, post and maintain your cast. It has great recommendations on which services to use (I have been extremely pleased with Liberated Syndication as my host). The authors are funny, knowledgable and had tons of inside information on podcasting. They even included case studies from famous podcasters and the trouble they went through to make podcasting what it is today.

The only thing that I would say you need to avoid in this book is the section on cleaning up your files. I started out following their advice to the letter. But, with each episode I did more and more experimentation with my sound. Here is the startling truth about what I discovered: you don’t need to do most of what they tell you to do. If you get a decent recording set-up, you don’t have to do all that editing. I bought the Behringer Podcast Studio, one of the cheapest kits out there, and I eventually just posted my show after only taking out some of the long pauses, rustling of notes and the occassional dog scratching on the front door. I now just pull out the annoying stuff, insert the bumper music and voila! All the other stuff they tell you to do is really unnecessary unless you have a crummy mic or lots of noise while you’re recording. They make it sound like if you do all that it will sound more professional. But, I actually felt that it made my voice sound like I was speaking through a tin can. So, give yourself some time to test out all the bells and whistles on the Audacity program and find the fit for you. And don’t be afraid to be a little less polished for the sake of time and convenience.

If you are seriously considering becoming a podcaster, this is where you start. It is the only book I used and I now have 15 episodes posted in less than 5 months. You can check out the results by searching for my podcast, Christian With A Brain, in iTunes or on Google. Happy Podcasting!

5 Stars The only book you need for Podcasting advice….until the next edition comes out.
A couple of years ago, I got Podcast Solutions and was really impressed with its’ overall content. For its’ time. Of course, with everything on the web, practically everything changes and thus, a new edition of this book had to be released. And it’s still probably the best book out there. Lots of updated information on how to create, edit and upload podcasts and for the most part, do it on the cheap since if you’re really looking to make a million bucks doing this, keep looking. Lots more stuff on video which has truly taken off thanks to YouTube and similar sites and newer ways to promote and get advertisers to your site. You’ll also learn how to use WordPress and similar blogs and create a podcast site as a result. That’s what I did with one of my clients. Not as thick as the Bibles out there but at least you won’t get a hernia trying to lift it. You should be getting ideas for your own (or your clients own) podcasts within minutes of surfing thru this book.

5 Stars Fantastic TV
I couldn’t be happier with this TV. The picture quality, sound, look, you name it - is fantastic. I also own a 60-inch Sony LCD…and I like this Samsung better.

5 Stars This HDTV is indeed a Touch of Color !!!
I have bought various tvs brands like sony, Panasonic, Vizio, and LG, but i would have to say that the samsung is just amazing in display. The size is just too pefect for the bedroom. Setup was easy, software and functions is just brilliant… and the number of ports you have is just outstanding. I will definately and highly recommend this TV for its a Buy

5 Stars samsung rocks!!!
I ordered this TV on Monday and received it with ‘white glove service” on Friday. (Standard shipping, sold from amazon). So sorry to the others who had crappy shipping service. Mine was great. I haven’t messed around with it yet, because I’m remodeling the room it will end up in. I will update this review, after that happens. Five stars ,this time, for amazon’s standard shipping.

5 Stars I love our new HDTV from Samsung
My husband and I bought this recently after a recommendation from my son, and we couldn’t be happier. We had an old CRT HDTV from about 8 years ago, and it finally went out on us. These new LCDs are excellent, they take up less space, add a classy look to our living room, and put out an excellent picture. I thought our DVD player looked great on it, but we received a blu-ray player for mother’s day and all I can say is wow. I’m not familiar with all the bells and whistles yet, but I’ve never seen a clearer picture on a home theater before. We definitely got our money’s worth.

5 Stars Awesome LCD TV for the price
This TV is another example of excellent quality from Samsung, and the reason they stay #1 in flatscreens. Personally, I love the 120hz feature on any TV, my Sony SXRD has it as well, and adds a 3D effect to hi def content not possible in the theater. DO NOT listen to the harpies mad about some shipping snafu or buyer’s remorse. You can’t go wrong with Samsung, and I will definitely buy from them again.

5 Stars My new TV is awesome!
My new TV is awesome. It’s not big, but hey, our place isn’t too big either, so it works out. We mainly use it to play games and watch Hulu… and we got it at a great price. If I had anything to say, which is not really a negative, just me being extra picky, is that the description said that it was brown (which I knew that was why we got such a good deal. Who would want a brown TV? Well, me.) and when you see it, it barely has a little bit of brown tint on the base. It is mainly black. So, if you want a great price, a great TV, and are not looking for a giant screen, this is your choice for a quality LCD.

5 Stars sony still the best
best picture composition of any tv i have ever seen. audio out should be upgraded to a toslink cable.

5 Stars Just What I Expected
Bought the Sony Bravia 26inch for my workdesk and I received exactly what I expected…a perfect LCD! It has an easy to use remote and the picture is bright and clear…don’t even need external speakers.

5 Stars Great TV!
This is our second Sony Bravia and we like this smaller one for our bedroom just as much as our larger one in the living room. A really wonderful TV!

5 Stars An Excellent LCD HDTV
I purchased this LCD HGTV and I am very pleased. It is a quality TV. The picture is excellent!!! The sound is excellent too because the speakers extend the front length of the TV. It was easy to assemble, and the setup was easy too. The manual and instruction sheets are easy to follow. I don’t have one complaint about this TV. I got it at a reduced price and that makes it even more special!

1 Star Don’t buy this product!
right out of the box and it didn’t work. had to call for a repairman to change parts.

5 Stars Beautiful
. Con (personal taste):

- I personally like the frame of the old model (all black, no surrounding bezel).

. Pro:

- Picture: beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Haven’t got the chance to play fast motion picture, so don’t know how the 60 Mhz would perform.

- Sound: ok (like most other TV). I hook it up to external speakers for better sound quality, as you should do for any TV.

- Ports: good amount of ports, including 1 HDMI port and 1 USB port on the side (easy to plug in your other device like laptop).

- Shipping: fast & great. Delivery company will call you to schedule delivery time. They bring the TV into your house, open it up, and let you “visually” inspect the TV for any broken part, then sign the paper.

- Price: good price to me. I found a $100 coupon online, which brought the price down to $1175.

5 Stars Don’t know much, but know I like it
I’m not even a fan of television, but as the gracious hostess I wanted to have a nice sized TV for my living room for when other people wanted to watch. Read a bunch of reviews, got some other people’s opinions. Apparently once you get into the larger screen sizes, there’s less of a price difference between the name brands and the off brands. That proved true in my search, so I figured since I was spending the money, I might as well get the name brand. From what I could tell, a difference of $100-200 looked like it could make the difference in my TV being super-awesome-fantastic for years to come, or it completely dying on me right after warranty ended. Didn’t want to take my chances. (There was also a $100 off coupon the week I got it, made the decision even easier).

Crazy thing too, I ordered this on a Wednesday, and Amazon said it would arrive the following Wednesday. Well it actually arrived THE NEXT DAY. Free super saver shipping and I essentially got it over-nighted. Guess I was close to a distribution facility. The delivery guy brought it in, opened it up, and plugged it in to show me it worked. I like how it’s packaged, the top lifts right off. Not very heavy either. Menus are really easy to understand. I haven’t played too much with the settings, but when I do it looks like it won’t be any trouble. Seems to have enough settings that it can be customized to any environment. And lots of inputs if you need those.

4 Stars Great TV
We’ve been very pleased with this television ever since it came out of the box. The picture is excellent and the sound is excellent as well. Have been praising Amazon and our purchase to quite a few people!

1 Star Poor Support
I purchased this TV in January 2009 and in May it developed a problem with the controls no longer interfacing with the TV (remote and side controls). At this point the TV was unusable.

Then I entered into the nightmare of trying to get Samsung to fullfil their obligation under the warranty and repair the TV.

They sent a contractor that I can never get on the phone, shows up hours later then the scheduled time, and never follows through. I have had to take countless hours out of my work day to keep calling over and over in an attempt to resolve the issue. The contractor is US Techdisplay LLC.

The repair contractor has ordered parts, replaced parts, attempted three times to repair the TV. They said on the last visit that they would make a determination that the TV can not be repaired. Since that time I can not get an answer from Samsung and can not reach the repair contractor. The repair contractor will not return phone calls. When I speak to the Samsung Executive Customer Service I get no where.

So, I have a TV that cost over $1000 in my house that does not work and has not been replaced. I have taken off work to wait for the contractor on three seperate occassions and always have to make calls myself in an attempt to resolve the issue. However, nothing is being resolved.

The bottom line is that Samsung does not support their products and I advise your to buy another brand with better support so that you do not have to experience my nightmare.
