5 Stars too many sound complaints
I got this T.V. off amazon in march and I’ve had it for a little more than two weeks. I am very impressed with the product; it is a great T.V. for my ROOM, which is why I can’t understand the problems people are having with the sound. First of all, the T.V. has good sound for one that is more suited for a bedroom (not a master sized); I don’t believe it’s best suited for either the kitchen or living room (both too big). If you are that concerned about the sound, you can just plug in some computer speakers in the headphone jack for some richer sound, samsung didn’t just build that in the set to make it look pretty. And if you’re looking for a more expensive solution, then there’s always digital audio. It’s silly to expect that you’re going to get the same kind of sound from a 22′ inch that you would get on a 32′ inch or larger. But everyone seems to agree that it has an excellent picture; images are clear and crisp, even in standard definition. Don’t be influenced by the “bad sound” comments, it’s a good buy.
4 Stars Good Value
We also purchased this TV specifically for our bedroom. Yes, the speakers could be better, however for use in a smaller room, they are fine.
The picture quality is great and certainly what you’d expect from a screen of this size.
I would not hesitate to recommend this TV.
5 Stars great tv
I purchased this television for my bedroom and it was a great purchase! It has a clear picture and is the perfect size.
5 Stars No complaints good tv
After checking out LCD TVs of similar size in person at Best Buy, this Samsung model stood out for the quality of the display. It was much sharper, denser, and brighter than a comparable LG model, and it seemed sharper than the older Samsung models as well. I bought the Terk HDTVa antenna to go with it (I am using over the air reception instead of cable), and the picture on the HDTV channels I get is outstanding and never the slightest bit fuzzy or speckled. Analog channels look bad but you’re not going to watch those anyway if there’s an HD version. Without cable, I just pick up NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, PBS but they all look great in HD. Just as an experiment, I switched the Terk Antenna on and off to see how well the built-in Samsung digital tuner worked without an antenna, and it seemed really similar but with a very tiny amount of speckling of images. So you could probably get away with not using an antenna if you live close to a tower(I live a couple blocks from a tower) I have no problem with the sound- I like how crisp and understandable it is at low volumes. This TV was extremely easy to set up as well- 20 minutes max.
3 Stars Bad sound on the 19 inch Samsung
We have a 32″ Samsung, similar and love it good picture good sound.
The 19 Inch has weak sound. At max you can hear it if you are right in front of the TV. Step through the door to the kitchen and it is weak even turning the set to that room for supper TV. I theorize it is a small speaker, compared to the 32 inch, with weak power. I suggested to Samsung, many calls, that they provide me with a powered auxiliary speaker. No chance. Many calls and one email, not answered, but no help. I could pack it up and send it to NJ for an evaluation but that task is daunting. This is one disadvantage of mail order. If I had purchased it down the street at Walmart I would just take it back and switch. On this product Amazon was $50 cheaper and it came in two days, no shipping, but 8% tax(boo NYS).

The Cheetah Mounts APTMMB Tilt Wall Mount offers a 0-15 degrees of tilt while maintaining a slim 1.9″ profile in the flat position. Weight capacity 160lbs supports hole patterns up to 28″ (711mm) wide by 19″ (483mm) tall. The universal design fits virtually any 32-55″ plasma or LCD TV.
5 Stars Excellent Product and Price
I purchased two of these mounts for a 32 and 36 Inch LCD TV. They both mounted well, look great and work flawlessly. You will not find anything better for the money. The instructions are not great, but it is not too hard to figure out how to mount this item. Great Deal!
5 Stars Why pay more for a mount?
You COULD spend $200 on a TV mount, but why? This mount is all you need. Super easy to assemble, fits a LOT of different brands and displays, and supports more weight that it would likely ever need to. Plus, the 15 degree tilt feature is pretty sweet…made it so easy to create a straight line of sight between the screen and the couch while still elevating the TV on the wall. So great. Things you’ll need to know: comes with some mounting hardware…you probably won’t need to go buy additional pieces. However, you will need a ratchet set, a good drill, a stud-finder (if you’re mounting to a wall and not a fireplace), and a level. The torpedo level that came with the mount was a piece of junk…don’t count on it working. ALSO: Most important note: the level that is built into the top of the wrack does not necessarily show level…mine was off by a couple of degrees so I had to use a real level. Enjoy!
5 Stars Great mount for a Great Price
First of all, I’m assuming if you’re shopping for a TV mount you have your own tools and some basic tool skills. If that’s true, this mount will not be a challenge to attach to the wall. It’s constructed of solid materials and well designed. It’s not the Ferrari of TV mounts, but I had no reserves hanging my brand new LCD on it.
I shopped around quite a bit to be sure I hung my flat panel on a good mount. I was amazed at the price difference between the Cheetah mount and those being sold at the large retailers. After reading the other reviews I decided to give them a chance. I made the right choice.
The level is a nice touch, but I suggest verifying with something a little more substantial. Mine wasn’t off that much, but a few other posters claimed theirs were worse.
5 Stars Great mount and only a fraction of the price!
This mount is wonderful. It was easy to install and holds my TV on the wall with no problems. Don’t be fooled by the price tag. You could pay 100-200 dollars in a retail store for a mount that does the same thing. I use this mount on a 37in Vizio TV and I couldn’t be happier with it. Shipping was fast, installation was a cinch. The built in level does not really give an accurate reading. I recommend using a larger seperate level to make sure your TV will be mounted straight. In short… BUY THIS MOUNT! It’s great and I would get another one for sure when I need it.
4 Stars Cheetah Mount for LN40A550
I purchased this wall mount for my LN40A550. Unfortunately, the hardware was not in the box so I had to wait through the weekend got the hardware the middle of the following week. The hardware fit my TV well and once I drilled some holes in the wall studs, I hung the mount and set the TV on it. Other than that slight setback, I am very pleased with the build quality of the mount. It can handle my 50lb TV easily. I would definitely recommend to someone else. It sure beats spending $150-200 on a mount.

4 Stars Pretty Good
So i bought this mount because of the good reviews posted about it. Everything was great until I had to mount the wall bracket. Being the perfectionist I am it took me close to an hour to figure out exactly how I want it hung, ie; height, where my outlet was, ect. Once I figured out where I wanted it to go it took only 15 minutes or so to get the wall mount set. Everthing from there was great but the reason why I marked a 4 star was due to the lack of illustrations in the directions. I’m a visualy learner and this lack of information is probably why it took me an extra 30 or so minutes.
All in all a good product. Total installation time was 1 hour.
3 Stars Not so heavy duty TV mount
The price on this TV wall mount was too good to pass up, but it is not very sturdy! This mount is barley capable of supporting a 50″ plasma. I am using it now for 4 months, but I worried about it the 1st week. So far it is still holding.
5 Stars Why wait??
Excellent mount for the price! As others have said, don’t pay 2 or 3 hundred, that’s just insane. This mount was every bit as good as a Sanus mount costing $90-$160 at a discount retailer! DON’T PAY THEIR PRICES!! JUST GET THIS MOUNT!! Awesome quality at an excellent rpice!!
4 Stars Great mount, great customer service, but took some time
It took about five days to receive this product and I only got the metal pieces. I called the company and they shipped the mounting hardware in two days and emailed me installation instructions immediately. I didn’t have to sit on hold forever and they were very friendly and helpful. We used this to hold a 42″ Samsung and so far so good! Oh and like everyone else has also said, don’t use the level because it’s definitely not accurate.
5 Stars Great Install.. Especially Screws
If you’ve ever mounted a TV before, you know drilling those screws into the stud can be an absolute pain.. pushing hard and risking stripping the screws. This mount had a great system. After you drill the pilot holes, use a socket wrench to install and tighten the screws. Amazingly simple and hassle free. Love it. Yeah watch the levels they are not accurate. Use your own. What a deal for so cheap. The tilt works as designed as well.

5 Stars Very nice TV set
This is my first digital TV. My existing TV is a 19″ RCA XL-100 I bought new in 1976. It has the old two-button remote using ultrasonic, no batteries. Still works great but I thought I’d just get a new TV and have both. Join the 21st century kind of thing. I heard that Samsung was the best brand for quality, and Sony was the same because Sony used Samsung parts. That’s what I had heard. I almost bought a 19″ Sony Bravia, I mean I was *that* close to buying one, but saw a picture showing the lame way it stands almost vertically (!) on the counter with a shaky center of gravity, ready to topple, and read a review that talked about that, where Sony expects you to tether the TV to the wall with a strap to prevent tipping. Very lame. So, it was a Samsung for me.
The Touch of Color thing was never explained well in the advertising. You pay more money just for a different color of case, it seems to be. Yeah, that’s what I did. It is a tiny bit pretty, a good thing, when compared to the funereal black of other digital appliances.
I took it out of the box, the stand was already attached even though the manual read like I needed to attach it. The instructions to attach it looked a bit confusing so I’m glad it was already attached. I placed it on the counter, read a little more, the first thing to do is have your TV scan for stations. Ok, did that. I am not on cable so I knew I had to attach external rabbit ears. My antenna had two U-clips while the TV had a protruding female coax jack with screw threads on the outside. My adaptor to convert the U-clips to a male coax connector was a push-on type and I think I had to damage a few threads on the TV jack, not sure, when I pushed the coax connectors together. But it worked and I get great digital picture.
You know, the thing no one points about about through-the-air digital reception is how perfect it is. We all know that through-the-air analog gives you various amounts of snow/static/fuzz at times, depending on how close you are to the source and how you position the antenna. That is, you will experience degrees of reception. We all grew up knowing that. However, with digital, there are no degrees of reception. No fuzzy. You either get no signal, or a perfect and beautiful HD picture. I bet the cable companies don’t want you to know that. After all, they got their start as the answer to snowy analog reception in remote areas. And how many people who currently are paying for cable would ever disconnect their cable to discover what I am saying? Might save a few bucks in this economy. And, at least where I live, there are several extra through-the-air digital channels that are not advertised anywhere! Who knew they even existed? I was pleasantly surprised! I watch them!
Anyway, the remote control looks standard, lots of buttons, the major ones are obvious and user-friendly. Again, my last remote had only two buttons: 1) channel changer clunk-clunk-clunk, and 2) ON, volume high; volume medium, volume low; OFF. So, all these new buttons on this new rmeote are so much fluff to me.
There is one slight bother about the case. On the front right, you can touch the case and change channels, do the volume, and a few other controls that I haven’t played with. Ok, but only the on/off button has an LED to guide you. For all other controls, you cannot see them or the labels for them unless room light or sunlight reflects on them just right. I had to shine a flashlight on them to see them. After a few weeks, I can guess their position, but sometimes I turn down the volume when I really wanted to change the channel. It gets slightly annoying. If it’s late at night or I am in no mood to fuss with it, I just grab the remote from whereever it is and use that.
Yes, I would get another Samsung, hands down. I am thinking about buying another flat screen TV soon. But, I also think not all Bravias have that bad design flaw of which I spoke, and maybe getting a Bravia might be an equally good idea for my next TV.
Hope this helps.
5 Stars Great picture!
I got this tv to replace one on my kitchen counter. It is connected to a cable and the HD channels are fabulous. The black with the tiny red tint is beautiful, but the picture quality is great. Well pleased.
5 Stars Great Picture
This little TV has a great picture and was extremely easy to setup. We also own a 46″ Samsung LCD and couldn’t be happier.
5 Stars Samsung LN19A650
Purchased this LCD to put into the bedroom of our motorhome and plan to purchase a 22″ for the front of our motorhome. These LCD’s save space and less weight. Excellent picture quality and like the features the remote control offers. Lastly, want to commend Amazon.com on the excellent service and response given to this buyer. Thank you so much.
4 Stars pretty nice for kitchen…
Bought this TV for our kitchen. Picture quality is great and sound is not bad. The TV is also a good looker. Am pretty happy with my purchase. Get HD channels by air, and the pickup quality is also good.
However, I would make a couple of changes:
- Redesign the remote. It looks as “old-age” and the TV looks “new-age”!!
- TV start/stop time is slow…after you press the button.

With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

5 Stars first time lcd tv owner
This is the first lcd tv I have ever owned. When I first bought it I was worried about how I would like it after reading some other complaints. I have owned many tv’s and compared to them I can’t find anything to say bad about it. I love the picture, sound, and the controls. I might buy another one for another room.
5 Stars great tv for the price
Whne calibrated this TV’s data revivals TV’s twice its price in this size range.

1 Star Not A Good TV
I just recently purchased this model and am wildly disappointed. The viewing angle is awful, the colors are bleeding together, and the picture while playing a DVD is beyond horrendous. I’ll be returning my set soon - I recommend you don’t even bother.
5 Stars Excellent tv for ANYONE!
My husband and I have the LN52A650 (bought from Amazon in Dec. 08) so when my husband’s 87 yr. old uncle decided to upgrade his old crt to hi-def, he called me to start the search for him and get one ordered and delivered.
He already knew he wanted a Samsung (”I just hear they’re the best” he says), nothing over 32″. I had a hard time convincing him that he needed more than a 32″ so getting him to agree to a 40″ was quite a challenge. He sits at least 12′ from the tv and can afford ANY tv he wants. All that was left was to decide on which model would be right for him.
After we decided on this model, the rest was up to Amazon and they didn’t disappoint! Pilot freight delivered our LN52A650 set and they delivered this one to our Uncle. He lives about 50 miles from us so we wanted to be sure his delivery was truly “white glove”. Some retailers say white glove when all they offer is to bring it inside and set it down in the room of your choice. Pilot unpacks it, plugs it in, puts batteries in the remote, powers it on and takes away the box.
Our uncle had Charter arrive the same afternoon to hook up his new HD DVR. He is very impressed with the picture. But he is so completely non-tech oriented that we were amazed he even wanted an HDTV. Now if we can just talk him into actually USING the pause and record features of his dvr, he’ll be all set! When he first got his cell phone, he would NOT turn it on. No one could call him on it. It took us months to convince him that he was NOT being charged airtime for just turning his cell phone on! What a character!
5 Stars I love this tv!
I’m watching baseball on the LN40B530 as I write this, and am blown away by the crisp picture and wonderful colors. The sound is fine as far as my family is concerned. I did make some adjustments to the equalizer, which improved how it sounded right out of the box. I walked past the “tv wall” at a local Best Buy, and to me this TV looked as good as the ones in the $2,000-and-up range. As far as its being “only” 60hz, it looked better than some of the 120hz ones. Maybe if you’re a heavy gamer that’s an important consideration, but nobody here is. Our previous TV was a Hitachi plasma EDTV that we thought was great, but this is a big improvement. Can’t wait to see a blue-ray disc on it. I wonder if the previous reviewer had a defective one. None of their complaints are true of this unit at all.
